Council continues alcohol‑compliance penalty for Crooked Pint to Feb. 24

Police staff said the council, as licensing authority, may impose civil penalties; past local guidelines have been $500 for a first violation, $1,000 for a second and $2,000 for a third within five years (with $2,000 noted as the state maximum). TGI Fridays closed in December 2024, so staff proposed a $500 fine only for Crooked Pint.
Councilmembers expressed a desire to have the business appear before the council. City attorney Mr. Beatty noted statute allows suspension (up to 60 days) or revocation of a license with notice and hearing if that penalty is considered. Councilmember Lee moved, Councilmember Juniman seconded, to continue the compliance‑failure penalty item until the Feb. 24 council meeting to allow Crooked Pint to appear; the motion carried by voice vote. The city clerk will notify the business.
