Finance and facilities committee reported near-complete transportation center, new high-school multipurpose addition and tennis courts, infrastructure upgrades at Meyer Middle School and elementary security improvements; open house scheduled Nov. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The River Falls Board of Education received a facilities progress report from the finance and facilities committee that highlighted construction and infrastructure work across the district.
Committee lead Mike told the board the high school now has a two-story multipurpose addition and new tennis courts are in use. The nearly finished Transportation Center will include repair bays, offices for grounds and transportation staff, restrooms and a meeting room; an open house at the high school and Transportation Center is planned for Nov. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. "We have a nice facility for them," Mike said of the Transportation Center upgrades.
At Meyer Middle School the district installed a new generator and replaced rooftops; elementaries saw restroom updates and new security doors aimed at enhancing safety. Greenwood had a visible exterior soffit replacement. Mike said the new facilities and mechanical upgrades are part of ongoing capital-work progress and that the new fiscal year (starting July 1) is on track with budget expectations.
No formal action was required; the report was informational and the board encouraged public tours at the open house.
