The board approved personnel committee recommendations including modest revisions to the substitute employee handbook and updates to employee handbook appendices for 2025–26.
The committee also recommended a revised job description for a Health Services Paraprofessional float position (a role not based at a single building but deployed where needed). Nate described the float position as a way to provide coverage across Greenwood, Montessori and high school sites and to substitute for health staff when necessary; Karen, the district registered nurse, will provide required training for staff in that role.
The board approved both the handbook revisions and the job description. Trustees said the changes respond to staffing realities and student medical needs and will support consistent service across buildings. The Renaissance Charter Academy student handbook (2025–26) was also approved; trustees noted the school earned a grant for a vape sensor and that district staff will review how that device will be used in practice.
Implementation: human resources will update posted job descriptions, and the district nurse and personnel staff will finalize training and onboarding for the new float position.
