The Gambling Control Board handled a slate of routine exhibits at its Sept. 15 meeting, approving transfers, capital spending, manufacturer games and license applications and denying one fund-loss request.
Among the actions the board approved were Exhibit A (transfer of gambling funds to an organization), Exhibit C (a property and capital asset expenditure request), Exhibit K (contribution of gambling funds to another licensed gambling organization), Exhibit M (a fund-loss request recommended for approval), Exhibit S (manufacturer's games), Exhibit U and U2 (license applications). The board moved and approved each recommendation during the meeting.
The board denied Exhibit N, a fund-loss request that had been recommended for denial by staff. One board member stated on the record that they were abstaining because they knew one of the applicants; the chair recorded the abstention and the motion to deny carried.
Several items drew brief discussion: a board member noted out-of-state license approvals (Ohio and Illinois) when Exhibit U was presented, and another thanked staff for careful review of fund-loss items. The meeting minutes record that motions were made and seconded and that votes were called verbally (members indicating 'aye').
The board adjourned after setting future meeting dates: Oct. 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Roseville and Nov. 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. in Duluth during the Allied Charities of Minnesota annual conference.
