PELSB approves consent agenda and sets 2026 retreat dates

The Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board approved its consent agenda by roll-call vote and set dates for its fiscal-year 2026 retreat during the Aug. 15 meeting.
Chair Lucy Payne called for approval of the consent agenda; Ms. Ajo moved, Ms. Trask seconded and the motion carried on roll-call.
On retreat scheduling, the executive committee recommended splitting the retreat into a training day in January and a separate public-facing community partner breakfast and retreat sessions in June. After board discussion Ms. Trask moved to adopt the dates—training day Thursday, Jan. 22, and a June 15 community partner event with the board meeting moved to June 16; Ms. Shoemaker seconded and the motion carried.
Committee chairs gave brief reports on recent meetings (executive, licensing, teacher-preparation, legislative, and standards & rules). Staff announced a "save the date" for Oct. 10 for a presentation on the Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact and noted a staff departure. Chair Payne appointed an ad-hoc committee to advance retreat work into actionable recommendations and adjourned the meeting.
