At its May 12 meeting, the Florissant City Council approved a series of ordinances and appointments, including rezoning and special-use actions, a building-code amendment and reassigned special-use permits.
Key votes and outcomes included:
- Bill 10068 (rezoning properties at 1210 & 1220 Paddock Drive and 2650 Parker Road from R-4 to B-5 planned commercial district) passed and became Ordinance 9067 after recorded votes.
- Bill 10069 (amendment to Special Use 4693 to allow a double-sided billboard for Ruiz Mexican Cuisine at 901 N. Highway 67) passed and became Ordinance 9068.
- Bill 10070 (amendment to chapter 220 to add provisions for recreational fires) passed and became Ordinance 9069.
- Bill 10073 (amend Title 5 residential code table R3012 to change ice-barrier underlayment requirement) passed and became Ordinance 9071.
- Bill 10074 authorized transfer of Special Use Permit 8388 from Chick-fil-A to Harrington Hospitality Group DBA Chick-fil-A for the restaurant at 3159 N. Highway 67 and became Ordinance 9072.
The council also accepted an application to transfer Special Use Permit 8388 earlier in the meeting and approved appointments: Pat Helfrich and Carolyn Connor were reappointed to the Senior Commission, and Laurie Coachman was appointed to the Emergency Management Commission.
The meeting opened with proclamations recognizing National Police Week and honoring Captain Joe Egan for his retirement from Maryland Heights Police Department; Mayor Timothy J. Lowery and council members praised volunteers from the Valley of Flowers festival and reminded residents of upcoming public meetings on traffic and parks master-plan efforts.
The council adjourned after a series of unanimous votes; the next regular meeting was announced for June 9, 2025.
