Tim, a presenter at the meeting, provided a progress update on the new school construction project. He reported crews have started grading around the roundabouts, completed undercutting for a retaining wall at the football field and advanced MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) rough-ins across multiple areas.
"Sprinkler installation started this month, down on area A," Tim said, and noted decking has been installed in parts of the gym and auditorium where trusses and bar joists are in place. Exterior metal stud framing and sheathing are nearing completion in areas B, C and D, and crews were preparing parapets and window blocking ahead of weatherproofing and the application of the building’s thermal envelope.
Upcoming work listed included construction of the retaining wall near the sports-field parking area, continued MEP rough-ins, completion of the gas line, continued metal framing, spray-foam insulation and the start of some roofing work. Tim closed by inviting questions; one attendee asked whether the roof is flat or sloped and Tim clarified which areas are flat versus slightly sloped to drain to roof drains.
