District planning staff provided a brief update on the strategic-plan process and an outreach timeline. The district's third-party partner (Plan Forward) will collect four distinct surveys—students in grades 6–12, parents of all students, district staff, and the broader community—and will compile summary data for the division.
The administration said the surveys will be administered Sept. 22—6 Oct. 6 and that the town hall is scheduled for Oct. 2; staff noted prior communication to families and an opt-out opportunity for students where appropriate. The target is to deliver a draft strategic plan for first reading to the board in March, with April as a fallback date if additional time is needed.
Planning staff emphasized the intention to gather broad stakeholder input and to have Plan Forward provide aggregated results rather than raw individual responses. Board members asked clarifying questions about distribution methods to reach community stakeholders who are not on division lists; staff said they will use multiple formats and the town hall to expand reach.
No formal board action was required at this meeting; staff sought the board's input and provided the timeline so the public would know how to participate.
