Council approves distribution of $38,898 refuge revenue-sharing check and three small community grants

Andrea Wall, accounting manager, summarized the payment and recommended allocations: Milford School District $7,730.23; Cape Henlopen School District $23,767.55; Sussex Tech $3,742.84; Sussex County $3,264.29; and Sussex County libraries $393.09. A council member moved to adopt the recommended distribution; the motion carried on a recorded vote.
Finance Director Gina Jennings presented three local grant requests later in the meeting. Council approved grants as follows: Town of Delmar — $5,000 for stormwater piping replacement; Delaware Manufactured Homeowners Association — $1,500 toward a $2,613 website redesign request (council members contributed from individual accounts); and Laurel Lions Club Foundation — $4,000 toward a $25,000 Phase 2 recreation complex request (previously received $5,000). All motions carried on recorded votes.
Council members moved and voted on each allocation during the session; no additional conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes for these small grants.
