The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners approved Road & Bridge recommendations to purchase a 2024 Chevy 6,500 from Fremont Motors for $75,296 and to approve two Ford F-250 options (a regular-cab and a crew-cab) as described in the bid materials, using funds from the approved Road and Bridge capital equipment budget.
Road and Bridge Superintendent Rowdy Branson presented the vehicle options, noted the need to accommodate a snow-plow mount and explained auctioning of surplus vehicles. Commissioners discussed model years, trade-in timing, and mileage on units being replaced; Branson said surplus or trade arrangements would be handled by auction.
A motion to authorize the chairman to sign purchase documents for the Chevy 6,500 was made, seconded and passed by voice vote. A separate motion to approve options 3 and 4 for the Ford F-250 purchases was likewise moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The chair declared both motions passed.
