Commissioners approve one‑year extension to Department of Family Services contract

The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners voted Aug. 19 to approve Amendment 1 to an existing contract with the Wyoming Department of Family Services, extending the contract term by one year without increasing the annual payment.
Cameron Duff, the county administrative director, told the board the amendment extends the current $65,000 annual contract by another year, bringing the two‑year total to $130,000. Duff said the funds are TANF pass‑through grants used for local service providers and asked that the board approve the amendment but not sign it until the attorney general’s office returns the corrected document with the county properly named.
A commissioner moved to approve and authorize the chairman to sign the amended contract; the motion passed by voice vote. Duff said it is common practice for the AG’s office to issue short extensions and that the county will execute the document once the AG signs the corrected version.
