Council designates Joseph Piper House at 1701 S. 20th St. a historic landmark

The mayor opened the required public hearing, explained the speaking procedures and called for speakers three times; with no members of the public choosing to speak, the hearing was closed. The council then voted 9 ayes to approve the ordinance.
The action adds the Joseph Piper House to the city's formal protections for historic properties; no public opposition or additional conditions were recorded in the hearing.
The ordinance will be entered into the city's records as adopted; the clerk noted the evidence (certified code copies) was admitted to support the amendment.
