St. Joseph — The City Council approved its consent agenda and passed an emergency ordinance to purchase two WANCO solar camera trailers and related installation services for the police department.
During the consent agenda the clerk read multiple items, including an amendment to the public safety tax fund for a Teleno intel workstation ($11,424), a three-year maintenance agreement with CDW-G ($35,604), amendments recognizing FEMA reimbursements for flooding, a real estate purchase and easement for a transit transfer station ($798,725), appointment resolutions for community improvement district boards, purchases of ammunition for the police department ($33,953.64), a work order with Burns & McDonnell ($29,000) for an East Side sewer model review and a procurement of a 2025 Ford F-350 for the mass transit division ($47,117.19). Council approved the consent agenda by voice vote; minutes record acceptance with the motion carrying and an abstention noted for item 11 by Council member Davis.
Separately, the council considered item 21, an emergency ordinance amending the police sales tax fund and authorizing the purchase of two WANCO medium-size solar camera trailers and associated installation and integration services from Turnkey Security Solutions for $93,052.50 each. After a brief technical issue with the voting system, the council voted 9–0 to approve the emergency ordinance.
These votes allow the city to move forward with the listed purchases and contracts; several items were for first reading and will return as required.
