The pay plan also adds a facilities‑manager classification and clarifies the definition of "self‑contained" classrooms and the supplements provided to teachers and paraprofessionals in those settings.
"This is our first update," a presenter said, explaining the changes are intended to align staffing with student needs and provide clearer career pathways and compensation for certified staff.
A motion to approve the pay plan was moved by Ms. Solman and seconded by Ms. Scruggs. The board polled in favor; recorded votes at the roll call were all in the affirmative.
Earlier in the meeting, the board approved personnel items and the consent agenda (items A–G) after motions from the floor; the clerk polled the board and recorded unanimous 'Yes' votes on those motions as well. No public testimony changed board action on the personnel or pay‑plan items.
The pay‑plan approval will require administrative implementation; staff said the conversion is budget neutral and intended to better address transition services for students with disabilities.
