Warren County School Board approves contracts for special-education, teletherapy and therapy services

The contracts include language that the vendor's platform "may incorporate artificial intelligence and machine-learning technologies" to support service documentation. When a board member asked specifically about AI use in evaluations, the Presence Learning presenter responded, "No. Definitely not. This is a live human being. This is a highly qualified ... school psychologist" and that standardized, approved protocols and test kits would be used; an on-site instructional assistant would facilitate sessions and present testing materials.
Music therapy and behavioral health: The board approved a memorandum of understanding with Frey Music Services (transcript includes variant spellings) to continue music-therapy services at the same rates and frequency as prior subcontracted arrangements; sessions will be provided with parent permission. It also approved an expanded MOU with Family Insight PC to provide mental-health and applied-behavioral-therapy services, which will be billed to student insurance when possible or paid by the district.
Why it matters: The contracts address vacancies the district has been unable to fill in specialized positions (speech-language pathologist, school psychologist) and formalize continuing partnerships to provide services to students with identified needs during the 2025–26 school year.
