The O'Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission voted June 5 to approve a site plan for a 30-unit expansion of Pinewood Place Apartments, contingent on a condition that the first floor of the retained house used as the leasing office be made ADA accessible.
Joseph Howley of CDC presented the plan on behalf of Whitney Capital Company Acquisitions LLC, describing a 2.25-acre parcel adjacent to the existing 72-unit complex and noting federal funding participation for the new units. Howley said the new units are mostly two-bedroom layouts (with six three-bedroom units) distributed across two new buildings. Presenters said the existing house on the parcel will remain as a leasing office while other outbuildings will be removed.
Commissioners and staff discussed ADA compliance for the leasing office; the commission added a condition to require first-floor accessibility and noted building code and plan review will address remaining code items. A motion to approve staff recommendations with the ADA condition passed by electronic vote.
