At its June 3 meeting, the Historic Preservation Commission heard an update on the Guthrie Burying Ground after a May 30 code enforcement follow‑up.
A staff member told the commission that code enforcement “did see that there is still no new fencing up. There is caution tape up,” and that city staff have left a voicemail for the property management contact and are awaiting a response. According to the same staff update, the city has previously granted one extension and may begin issuing violations and fines if the property does not come into compliance.
Commissioners had asked whether the city had a firm deadline for enforcement; the staff member said follow‑up would occur and that fines or other violations would be considered if staff do not hear back or the property remains out of compliance.
The update included no new schedule for remediation; staff said they would pass along further information to commissioners as it becomes available. No formal motion or binding direction was made at the meeting.
