Commission approves CUP for League 1 volleyball facility at Keaton Corporate Parkway

Eric Schultz, who said he develops and acquires volleyball clubs for League 1, described the organization's national presence (65 clubs, 79 locations, roughly 1,850 teams and 20,000 players) and said the O'Fallon site would start with five indoor courts and expand to six in a second phase, with an anticipated November opening and preseason training beginning in December. Schultz said the club expects to support roughly 30–35 teams and regional weekend tournaments beginning January 2026; he characterized most visiting participants as regional day‑trip attendees rather than large overnight events.
Commissioners asked about parking and hotel coordination; staff and the applicant discussed an estimated peak parking need of 175–200 spaces and a planned striping addition of roughly 20–25 spaces in December. Commissioner Hennessy moved to approve staff recommendations and the motion passed; the applicant was informed the item will appear before the City Council on June 19.
