The sponsor said, "this resolution recognizes the distinguished service and exceptional valor of the men and women of the United States Navy and commemorates the 250th anniversary of its founding," and asked the committee to move the measure to the floor in time for the Oct. 13 anniversary.
Chair Richardson thanked the witness on behalf of the committee and offered appreciation for the sponsor’s service. No committee questions were recorded during the hearing.
The resolution is a ceremonial recognition; no formal committee votes or amendments were taken at this session. The chair indicated members would consider the resolution through the committee process with the goal of completing action before the anniversary date.
