Residents urge help with failing septic, local groups promote solar grazing event

Later, a Park 1 resident described families in Ruckersville living with failing septic systems and said many are elderly or on fixed incomes and cannot afford moving costs. “I can't afford to move anywhere… I'm 63 years old. I can't go into debt no more,” she said, asking the board to “talk to the people and see how hard it is for us to try to have…a place to stay.”
Board members acknowledged the hardship and indicated staff and the applicant would follow up. The resident's comments were later discussed during the public hearing on a rezoning request for nearby parcels, and the board deferred that item until a written relocation plan is produced.
