Leslie Johnson, the county’s zoning administrator, presented the annual zoning work program update and an outline of proposed priorities for the next two fiscal years.
Johnson said the department uses a two‑year cycle because many ordinance amendments require extensive research and stakeholder outreach. Staff reported completion of about 55% of the current work program items and highlighted recent work on special events, PDH/PDC district amendments, accessible parking edits and repeal of an outdated section.
Priority projects and timing Johnson identified priority‑1 topics for the coming cycle (including accessory living units, fees and PRC plan exceptions), items to be carried forward from FY2025 (manufactured homes, substations, BESS drafting) and second‑tier concepts that include larger reviews of commercial and industrial district permissions and a placeholder for small modular reactor (SMR) issues.
Board feedback Supervisors thanked staff for responsiveness and urged continued outreach on items such as food truck hours and manufactured homes; staff said they will return with additional memos and public hearing schedules as drafts mature.
