Lloyd said the agency’s FY25 budget was $487,267 and described rising operational costs that make reliance on offender fees alone unsustainable. He noted other counties in the region have offered annual contributions (examples cited included $5,000 and $10,000 commitments) and asked the board to consider a modest contribution to maintain staffing and services locally. Lloyd said the merger went into effect June 1 and that Charlotte County has not previously contributed to ASAP operations.
Board members asked for historical details and noted they would send the request to staff for follow‑up. Lloyd offered to provide additional referral data and to answer questions as staff researches options.
