County planning staff told the Board of Supervisors that draft 3 of the Augusta County comprehensive plan has been distributed to board members, including a clean version, a track-changes comparison and an executive summary; an edited list of significant changes was included in the packet. Mr. Wolf said staff will publish a summary of community engagement and updated drafts on the county website and reminded the board of a joint work session with the planning commission on Sept. 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
At Ms. Carter’s request, a staff member presented delinquent real estate tax figures from the treasurer’s office: delinquent taxes totaled $4,798,142.94 and the amount collected by the office of James Elliott during calendar year 2025 was $57,037.11.
Board members discussed the comp plan timeline and the importance of completing small-area plans (Greenville, Verona and Wiers Cave) to inform long-term land-use and traffic decisions. The board did not take a formal vote on comp-plan adoption; staff noted the next steps involve additional review and the scheduled work session.
