School Board approves 2025–26 testing calendar; staff clarifies reporting of testing minutes

The Miami-Dade County School Board voted to approve the district’s 2025–26 testing calendar (C2) on Aug. 12.
Board Member Santos asked why the testing-time table (page 13 of the plan) showed larger total minutes for many grade levels. District staff explained the change: the state now reports the maximum number of minutes a student might take for certain assessments (rather than the previous median figure), and the state’s total for 10th grade now includes PSAT minutes that had not been previously reflected. "The testing time hasn't really changed; it's just the way it's being reflected in the table," a district representative said.
Staff also confirmed the district continues to offer school-day SAT, ACT and CLT administrations to increase access for students and noted that parents and students can find the testing schedule online. The board approved C2 by voice vote.
