Board approves consent items, policy advertisements and MOUs in unanimous votes

The Leon County School Board handled routine business and several formal motions on Sept. 23, approving changes to the agenda, consent items and multiple policy advertisements and agreements.

The board approved the superintendent—s recommended changes and additions to the agenda (including adding item 19.09, an MOU with the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Bend), and later approved all items of consent by voice vote.

Key motions approved by the board include items to advertise amendments for public hearing and adoption on Oct. 28, 2025: policy 84-20 (emergency management), policy 91-50 (school visitors), policy 84-07 (Safe School Officers), and policy 75-10 (use of district facilities). Item 19.02 (naming district facilities) was pulled earlier in the meeting and will return for discussion. The board also approved an Employee Assistance Program agreement with Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, out-of-county travel for specified board members (district noted no district funds used), and an MOU with the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Bend to serve identified schools (Bond, Oak Ridge, Sable Palm, Springwood and Griffin).
