Student group Girl Flow tells Leon County board it will expand menstrual-equity work

At the July 29 meeting, Anitra Krishnan, a senior at Charles High School and lead ambassador for the Girl Flow Project, described the student organization’s work to improve menstrual equity across Leon County Schools.
“We want to make sure students in Leon County have access to vital period products,” Krishnan said. She summarized the group’s activities — donation drives, educational events and installing dispensers in county high schools and middle schools — and said the group runs three active school chapters. She invited the public to visit the Girl Flow booth at the Leon County back-to-school event on Aug. 9.
Board members thanked the students and offered the district’s support for expanding chapters and ambassador programming.
