The board granted phase‑2 design approval so the district can proceed toward phase 3 for several projects: Laughlin Technical College administration building upgrades and building‑2 energy upgrades; phase‑2 design for Bagdad Elementary School; and a Gulf Breeze High School Field House energy upgrade project that also includes replacement of aging main switch gear.
Project managers reported robust progress at several sites. Contractors are nearing substantial completion on the Laughlin admin building (targeted October completion for a key milestone), interior framing and finishes are underway at the Center for Innovation (which had a $23,005.35 change order approved for fire‑sprinkler service extension and interior changes), and Soundside High School construction work — including metal panels, lockers, painting, and mechanical systems — is continuing on schedule.
Board members approved the phase‑2 design motions unanimously and thanked construction teams and project leads for on‑time work. Capital‑project managers said additional phase‑3 requests will follow at future meetings as projects move forward.
