After public comment was called (none was offered), Mr. Kennedy moved and Mr. Frank seconded adoption of the required local effort rate; subsequent motions adopted the discretionary and capital-outlay components by voice vote. The board then adopted a tentative budget of $342,291,435 for FY2025'26 and approved a resolution adopting the tentative budget; the board voted to use the tentative budget as the operating budget until the final budget is adopted.
A final budget hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9, 2025 at 5:01 p.m. at the Citrus County School Board District Service Center, 1007 West Main Street, Inverness. The board did not record individual roll-call tallies in the transcript; approvals were made by voice vote and recorded as passing.
