Eric Bittner and Tampa General representatives described a partnership that will provide $150,000 of direct monetary assistance and $150,000 of in‑kind support over three years to the Academy. A Tampa General representative told the board the hospital "is committed to seeing this partnership through," thanking district staff and community partners for creating the program pathway.
Mister Kennedy moved to approve the MOU; Mister Dodd seconded. The motion carried by voice vote and the board welcomed a photo opportunity with Tampa General Hospital, the Education Foundation and other partners.
Board members praised the hospital's leadership and the potential for training and placement opportunities for students interested in health careers. The agreement as presented was informational and procedural; no further action was recorded beyond approval of the MOU.
