Ogden introduces new fire command staff; Brandon Parr named fire marshal

Mayor invited Fire Chief Slater to introduce the appointments. Chief Slater said the city conducted a national search but the successful candidates were internal: "Brandon Parr is now our new fire marshal," Slater said, noting Parr's prior role as deputy fire marshal and leadership during recent fires. Slater also introduced Matt Hess as the new deputy fire chief over operations and Ashley Phillips, previously a medical captain, who will support EMS programs.
Council members thanked the chief and the command staff for stepping into leadership during a busy summer and for stabilizing department operations while vacancies were filled. The mayor praised the fire and police personnel for their response to recent challenges and commended the new command staff for "stepping up to fill those gaps."
