The Vernon Hills Village Board approved three special‑event resolutions on Aug. 12, clearing Hoptoberfest, an Aspen Woods car show, and a Sitka Gear season kickoff to proceed with conditions imposed by staff.
Resolution 2025‑043 authorizes Hoptoberfest at Melody Farms and waives associated village fees; staff said the resolution includes conditions to confirm BASSET‑trained servers for participating vendors. Director Jennings noted some participating businesses hold their own liquor licenses while others will use third‑party, BASSET‑certified servers.
Resolution 2025‑044 approved a small car show at Aspen Woods Memory Care (500 Atrium Drive). Monica Motica, the event representative, told the board she expects roughly 60 attendees and said the event has run in prior years with off‑site parking and staff‑directed circulation. Resolution 2025‑045 approved Sitka Gear’s season kickoff at Melody Farms on Aug. 23 (10 a.m.–4 p.m.), which will include vendors, conservation groups and indoor speakers.
All three resolutions passed on roll calls with 'Aye' votes from voting trustees and President Tom Cook Jr. Board members emphasized event conditions (parking, safety plans and certificate confirmation) and wished organizers success.
