Suffolk City Council unanimously approved a consent-agenda ordinance on Oct. 1 to accept and appropriate a $255,000 grant from the OBC Health Care Foundation for the Suffolk Public Library’s Link Up initiative.
City staff said the funding will hire a full-time library position based at the library for three years, cover salaries and a portion of fringe benefits, and increase planned revenues and expenditures in the consolidated grants fund by $255,000. The manager noted the grant requires a local cash match of $56,241, which the city has provided in the FY 25–26 consolidated grants fund.
Council voted 7–0 to adopt the consent agenda item. Councilmembers had no questions during the presentation.
