Panel approves amendments to HB127 to preserve directory information access for state systems

Vice Chair Odioso said the amendments were requested by the management council. A second amendment clarifies that if a school district has an existing agreement with another entity to provide student directory information, the bill does not add new requirements on top of that agreement.
Both amendments were approved without objection. Vice Chair Odioso then moved to favorably report HB127 as amended; the clerk’s roll call showed 11 affirmative votes and 0 negative votes. The chair authorized the Legislative Service Commission to harmonize the amendments, and the roll will remain open until 5 p.m.
No opponent testimony was submitted for the third hearing on HB127, and the committee took no further action beyond reporting the bill favorably.
