Trustees moved quickly to process the resignation during the meeting. A board member said Spicer would remain with the district for a smooth transition through the end of the year. The board president said the district would begin a search for the next superintendent immediately and promised to keep the community informed as the process proceeds.
The board’s action was procedural acceptance of a retirement resignation; Spicer will stay on through Dec. 31 to assist with transition tasks. The district did not announce a timeline for the search beyond the pledge to start the process immediately.
