Residents seek town help for Memorial flags and Halloween street closure

Sonia Rhodes urged the board to continue the successful Halloween Central Street closure and extend the closure until 8 p.m., citing safety concerns for numerous children and recent construction on Main Street. Board members said they will confirm the Main Street construction schedule and will pivot plans if paving is not complete before Halloween; the board expressed support for continuing closures if feasible.
The board and staff agreed to coordinate with utility owners for flag placement on shared poles and to work with the flag committee on logistics and budget options ahead of budget-season decisions and possible special-article placement on the Australian ballot.
