The Minnetonka City Council approved a temporary liquor license for the Minnetonka Rotary Club’s Links & Libations fundraising event, scheduled for Sept. 11 at Glenlake Golf Course (14350 County Road 62). Staff described the event as a nine‑hole scramble followed by a tasting event, raffle and silent auction; the Rotary’s Chris Rosenland told council the 14th annual event is the club’s largest fundraiser and that "100% of the net proceeds of this event go to local organizations" including ICA Food Shelf, Lift Garage, Resource West and local scholarships.
Rosenland listed several local brewery participants for the beer tasting and noted local business sponsors; staff and council said they have seen no prior issues at past events of this type. Councilmember Schack moved approval and Councilmember Romiley seconded; the license motion passed on roll call vote.
