The board voted to approve Resolution B1 to refund a district bond ordinance, a financial action presented during the Jan. 7 meeting.
District finance staff explained the refinancing creates estimated savings of approximately $1.3 million over the final six years of the debt, or about $145,000 per year. A board member thanked the district’s advisers and noted the refinancing is a standard debt-management move to reduce interest costs and manage outstanding obligations. The motion to adopt Resolution B1 was moved and seconded, followed by a roll-call vote in which all members present voted Yes; the resolution carried.
The administration said if interest rates continue to decline further opportunities may arise to generate additional savings on district debt; next steps will follow the resolution’s implementation plan with district financial advisers.
