The Central Virginia Transportation Authority voted to approve a slate of five VDOT standard project agreements, advancing previously allocated regional projects into formal VDOT administration.
Executive Director Chet told the authority the five agreements reflect projects that “have all been previously allocated regional funds, through round 3 or earlier,” and that executing the standard project agreements is the next step in moving the work forward. The projects listed in the packet were CBTA 34 (I‑95/Route 10 interchange, phase 2), CBTA 49 (Route 288 southbound auxiliary lane), CBTA 51 (Route 250/288 interchange improvements), CBTA 54 (I‑64 Exit 211 interchange improvements) and CBTA 60 (I‑64/US‑60/VA‑13 intersection improvements). Staff noted the packet handout for CBTA‑0054 contains an updated schedule on page 6 that should be used in place of the originally posted packet.
A member asked whether maintenance responsibility would change; staff confirmed VDOT will administer and, for projects on VDOT‑maintained facilities, is the long‑term owner and maintenance would not change under the agreements. After brief discussion, a member moved to recommend approval and the authority approved the slate by voice vote.
Next steps: executing the standard project agreements and following VDOT’s reimbursement and administration process as the projects proceed. The authority did not provide additional allocation details beyond the packet content at the meeting.
