Public commenters and council members urged the administration to ensure enforcement capacity. Angela Venegas, a resident who has raised short‑term rental problems at prior meetings, said enforcement — not just a new ordinance — will determine the law’s effect. "Once again, we have short term rentals on the agenda, and I see what's lacking from it again is enforcement," she said.
Some council members raised that additional ordinance officers or dedicated enforcement resources would increase the ordinance’s effectiveness; administration representatives said new ordinance officers had been sworn in recently and that enforcement would be coordinated with police. Council voted to adopt the ordinance on second reading; the ordinance becomes effective upon publication per code.
