The Westfield Park and Recreation Board unanimously approved a goods-and-services contract with Hittle Landscaping for roundabout and median planting on the city27s west side, at a not-to-exceed cost of $196,037.
Staff said the contract covers three roundabouts (Summerville & Ditch Road; 151st & Ditch Road; Casey & Ditch Road) and the adjacent Summerville & Ditch Road median, and includes the first 30 days of post-installation watering to help plants establish before winter dormancy. "They will have until November 1 to complete the installation of the plants," Chris said during the meeting.
The contract was scored highest by the board27s scoring committee and is within the budgeted $200,000 allocation for the project. During the motion process, members corrected a typographical error in the motion amount; the board amended the motion to reflect the correct not-to-exceed figure of $196,037 before voting.
The board authorized the director to execute the contract; staff indicated the work is intended to beautify roundabouts and medians and that contract monitoring will follow normal procurement and scoring procedures.
Next steps: staff will finalize the contract and monitor installation and the 30-day watering period.
