During the public-comment portion of the Sept. 8 Grandview Heights City Council meeting, resident Martha J. Moore described an incident in late August in which a visiting family from Germany struggled to complete the pool's online guest-pass application and make a credit-card payment. Moore said there were fewer than 10 people at the pool that day and staff did not appear to be able to help the family navigate the application.
Moore said she stepped in and used her credit card so the mother and her two children could enter; she later received reimbursement of $36.07 and a thank-you card from the family. Moore asked the council and Parks & Recreation leadership to review the guest-pass application and consider simplifying it to reduce barriers for visitors and non-English speakers.
Council members thanked Moore for sharing the experience and said they would pass the feedback to Parks & Recreation staff for review. No formal action was taken at the meeting; the comment was recorded as part of the visitor-comment record.
