Grandview Heights council accepts tax-incentive review council recommendations and recognizes National Suicide Prevention Month

Council approved Resolution 30-2025, accepting the recommendations of the Tax Incentive Review Council after an August review of property tax abatements and TIF agreements. Director Miller summarized TURC’s review of the listed abatements and TIFs — including NRI Land Equity at Grandview Yard, AEP at 1333 West Goodale, 835 Goodale LLC (Southern Station Building), the Grandview Yard TIF, Goodale Mixed Use, Southern Gateway and Neighborhood Business District TIFs — and said the council of review recommended continuing the existing agreements. "The TURC reviewed all of the information on those incentives and agreements and recommended continuing all of those agreements," the presenter said. Council member Panzera moved to approve the resolution; council member Smith seconded. The clerk recorded roll-call votes of yes from Council members Houston, Kozak, Panzera, Smith, Walker, Weiss and Council President Keeler; Resolution 30-2025 was approved.
The council also approved Resolution 31-2025, recognizing September as National Suicide Prevention and Action Month. The resolution’s sponsor (not named in the transcript) said the item was personal and urged awareness of local resources, citing NAMI Franklin County and the national 988 crisis lifeline. "I have lost people to suicide," the sponsor said, urging anyone in crisis to seek help. Council member Walker moved to approve; the motion was seconded and the roll call recorded affirmative votes from a majority of members; Resolution 31-2025 was approved.
Separately, Ordinance 2025-9, a supplemental-appropriations ordinance for fiscal year 2025, was listed for a second reading with no substantive discussion recorded and no vote taken at this meeting.
