District facilities staff updated the board on summer construction progress and the board approved entering contracts for Phase 1 of the 2022 capital project.
Facilities staff reported completion of technology spaces, casework, exterior paving and concrete work, and progress on baseball field grading and topsoil. At the middle school, the steel structure for a new music space is in place and mechanical and dust-collection systems are connected for the technology lab. Sidewalk links to the middle school and much of the site topsoil work were described as near completion.
Following the update, the board moved to "approve entering into contracts for the 2022 capital project Phase 1" and read low-bid contract information as recorded in the meeting: Contract 301 (general trades) UDNE, $202,192,000; Contract 302 (plumbing) Delta, $144,469; Contract 303 (mechanical/sheet metal) mineral piping, $72,000 (amounts as read aloud during the motion). The board voted on the motion; the meeting record shows the motion passed with one abstention and no named opposing votes.
Board members will monitor construction progress as the project advances; no amendments to the contracts were recorded during the meeting.
