The Saint John Park Recreation board approved three independent-contractor agreements for 2025 programming at the community center during its Sept. 16 meeting.
The board approved a contract for Zumba instruction with Kelly Schinneberger, a contract with Clementine Candle Company for candle-making classes, and a contract with Celeste Schreiber for creative learning classes. Each contract was approved by the board without recorded opposition.
During discussion members confirmed the agreements cover classes hosted at the community center and that instructors and vendors must comply with town procedures when hosting events. For the Zumba contract members noted schedule and payment questions had been addressed; for the liquor-related question raised in a separate agenda item, staff reminded members that any alcohol associated with private rentals requires state authorization as well as the town's permit and forms.
The motions to approve these contractor agreements were recorded as carried by unanimous voice votes. The items will be implemented by town staff and the recreation department.
