Council clears consent items, fills planning vacancy and sets election and budget dates

Council also approved a resolution calling a special election for Ward 5 on Nov. 4, 2025 to fill a vacancy created when a councilmember announced candidacy for mayor. Council authorized contracting with the Angelina County elections administrator to conduct the special election and approved the related resolution.
