The Stephens County Planning Commission voted to approve a rezoning that transfers 0.066 acres from agricultural-residential to residential-single to resolve a boundary/access issue between properties.
Staff introduced the request for Parcel 044005 (applicant James Bruce III) and said the rezoning will allow the owner of the southern property to have full access to an area they are presently using; staff recommended approval and noted there should be no adverse neighborhood impact. Maurice Daley, the adjoining property owner, told the commission his family has used a driveway and small utility building on that parcel since his father bought the property in 1964 and asked that the small portion be sold so the driveway and utility building clearly belong to the buyers.
After public comment with no recorded opposition, the commission discussed and moved to approve the rezoning by voice vote. The approval was for rezoning only; any platting or subdivision approvals would require separate review by the Board of Commissioners.
