The Stephens County Planning Commission voted to grant a variance permitting an accessory structure within the front yard of property at 353 Oakway Drive, an application brought forward for property owner Tony Keller.
Staff introduced the request and said the parcel (044193) is 4.34 acres and not readily visible from the street; staff cited Chapter 59, Article 16, Section 59-16-10 of the Stephens County Code of Ordinances, which normally requires accessory structures to be placed only in the side or rear yard, and recommended approval as a low-intensity use. After a brief commission discussion, a motion to approve the variance was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The approval was limited to the variance request described in the public hearing; no additional conditions or separate land-division approvals were recorded at the meeting. The item will proceed according to normal permitting steps under county code.
