The Manchester Township School District Board of Education on Thursday approved a series of routine consent, administrative, personnel and finance items and heard reports on shared services and ESSA funding.
Board members moved and passed Section 1 consent items and the related B–E approvals, then approved administrative items listed in Section 2. The board then considered the personnel block (numbers 1–54); the roll call recorded predominantly affirmative votes but included at least one recorded "no" on the personnel packet. Student personnel item number 1 — approval for a non-medical home instruction tied to special-education services — was discussed briefly and approved after administration explained it related to special education needs.
Business administrator Mr. Lorenzen told the board the district is entering shared-service agreements: providing a bus aide to Lacey Township and supplying a physical therapist to Plumstead Township two days a week. Lorenzen said the therapist had been working part time for the district and agreed to add two days; he emphasized the district would "put our district first" if caseloads required the therapist to be reassigned and would terminate the shared service if necessary. On ESSA funding, Lorenzen said the district received slightly more than anticipated, with increased Title III (ESL) dollars tied to growth in ESL enrollment.
Special services items (numbers 1–3) and the finance block (Section 3, numbers 1–5) were approved by roll call. The meeting concluded after public comment and an adjournment motion.
