Board preview: items heading to Aug. 26 meeting include anaphylaxis policy edits, transportation report and land conveyance

Anaphylaxis policy: Staff recommended a minor language clarification to Policy 5534.1 to account for new delivery devices (a nasal autoinjector as well as intramuscular injectors). Because the change is limited to wording and training, staff proposed doing both first and second reading at the Aug. 26 meeting; no board member objected.
Transportation: Transportation staff presented the annual transportation policies (no substantive changes) and said the district follows state statute. A board member asked for updated costs to bus students who attend private schools; staff said they would provide the figures.
Parcel conveyance: Staff summarized a parcel on Highway 158 the county will convey to the City of Kenosha and then to Kenosha Unified via quick-claim deed after related municipal approvals; city approval already occurred and county action is scheduled ahead of the Aug. 26 board vote and a later board-of-electors meeting.
Boys & Girls Club MOU: Staff recommended renewing an MOU to fund a gang-prevention program with the Boys & Girls Club at $60,000 from Fund 80 for the 2025–26 school year; presenters described program activities and school-based coordination.
Title IX coordinator update and policy housekeeping: After rightsizing, staff said Anthony (Tony) Casper will be added as an additional Title IX coordinator/decision maker alongside Beth Ormseth; staff proposed first/second read since this is a personnel identification change not a substantive policy revision.
Committee structure and prep time: Board members discussed restoring clearer committee roles and cadence (potentially adding a legislative/policy committee) and staff said they will draft policy revisions. The superintendent also committed to develop cost options for prep time proposals and bring an update in August or September.
