Public Works Director Harry told the South Lebanon City Council on Sept. 18 that recent repavement work covered Forest, Morrow, Pike, Vista Ridge and Zor Road, and thanked crews and contractors (Fillmore Construction, Site Works, Green Earth) for their work.
Harry said the city is now reusing asphalt millings from grindings on repavement projects for municipal uses including parks and lift-station work, which he described as "free asphalt for us" and a substantial cost saving. He acknowledged inconveniences from road closures during paving and said crews are working through punch lists to finish outstanding items.
A resident said a motorcycle hit a deep manhole cover on Morrow Road and described the cover as "very deep." Harry said the manhole-cover issue is on his punch list, that several covers are "really deep," and that crews will place temporary warnings until repairs are completed.
The public works update also noted that curb-and-gutter and sidewalk profiles affected roadway width on some streets; Harry said the city retained minimum width standards and that drainage needs drove some design choices.
Next steps: Harry said he would finalize the punch list and provide the mayor and council with an update on when remaining work will be completed.
